Man Arrested In Undercover Operation For Soliciting Minor On The Web

 

 

 

 

Frederick County, Virginia- Investigators with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations- Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit have charged 43-year-old Robert Edwin Huff of the 400-block of Surrey Club Lane, Stephens City, Virginia with Attempted Indecent Liberties with a Minor and Use of a Computer to Solicit Sexual Activity with a Minor.

 

This investigation stemmed from a sexually explicit online chat that the suspect initiated with an undercover Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Investigator working through the NOVA-DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force.  Huff made contact with an individual that he believed to be a 14-year-old female to engage in a sexual encounter in the Stephens City area.  

 

On October 22, 2010, Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office arrested Huff after he arrived at a predetermined location in Stephens City.  Huff traveled by vehicle to the location to meet what he believed to be the 14-year-old female.

 

Huff was transported to the Northwestern Regional Jail where he was held without bond, pending a bond hearing.

 

The preliminary hearing was set for November 8, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in Frederick County, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
