Man Arrested For Soliciting Minor On The Web

Frederick County, Virginia- Investigators with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations- Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit have charged 21-year-old Jeremy E. Venskoske of Frederick County, Virginia with Attempted Indecent Liberties with a Minor and Use of a Computer to Solicit Sex with a Minor.

On May 26, 2010, Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office arrested Venskoske as he arrived at a predetermined location in the area of the Tennis Courts at James Wood High School, which is located on Apple Pie Ridge Road.  Venskoske traveled by vehicle to the location to meet what he believed a 14-year-old child to engage in a sexual encounter.

This investigation was a result of information received that Venskoske was engaging in inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old juvenile via a social networking site, while on unsupervised probation due to a previous incident.

Venskoske had been previously arrested on December 18, 2007 and charged with Attempted Indecent Liberties with a Minor and Use of a Computer to Solicit Sex with a Minor.  On September 15, 2008 in the Circuit Court of Frederick County, Venskoske pled guilty to (1) count of Misdemeanor Indecent Exposure.  Venskoske was sentenced to (12) months in jail, with all but (4) months suspended, and ordered to (3) years of unsupervised probation.

Venskoske is currently being held at the Northwestern Regional Jail without bond, pending a bond hearing.

Investigators are investigating whether Venskoske had any other inappropriate contact with any other children.  Anyone with information about Venskoske that may be pertinent to this case is asked to contact the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Internet Crimes Against Children Unit at: 540-504-6540.
